Book Summary
Vit Krysantemum by Mary Lynn Bracht is a historical fiction novel that tells the story of two Korean sisters, Hana and Emi, separated by the Japanese occupation during World War II. Hana is taken by soldiers and forced into a life of sexual slavery as a “comfort woman,” while decades later Emi, now elderly, struggles with guilt and remembrance as she confronts her past and her sister’s fate.
