These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of this website and any purchases made from Bokvinden a Shopify-based online store selling second‑hand books. By visiting our site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our website.

2. Products

We sell second-hand (used) books. Due to the nature of second-hand goods, all books are graded according to condition. Each product is described and classified using the following grading system:

• Som ny – The book is in near-new condition with minimal or no visible signs of use.

• Fint skick – The book shows normal signs of careful use, such as minor wear to cover or pages, but is in overall very good condition.

• Välanvänd – The book is clearly used and may show noticeable wear, such as creases, edge wear, notes, stamps, or other marks consistent with extended use.

Books may additionally show signs of natural aging, such as yellowing of pages, changes in paper texture, or binding wear. Such aging and normal wear consistent with the stated condition grade are not considered defects.

The condition of each book is described to the best of our ability. Images are for illustrative purposes and may not perfectly reflect the actual product.

Minor deviations that are consistent with the stated condition grade do not constitute a defect under applicable consumer law.

3. Prices and Payment

All prices are stated in SEK (Swedish Krona) and include applicable VAT unless stated otherwise.

We reserve the right to:

• Correct pricing errors

• Adjust prices at any time

• Cancel orders in case of obvious pricing mistakes

Payments are processed securely via Shopify and its supported payment providers.

4. Orders and Order Confirmation

After placing an order, you will receive an automatic order confirmation by email acknowledging receipt of your order.

A binding purchase agreement is concluded once we have confirmed acceptance of your order, for example by sending a shipping confirmation or otherwise confirming that the order will be fulfilled.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order if:

• The product is out of stock

• Incorrect pricing or product information was displayed

• Fraud or misuse is suspected

If an order is cancelled, any paid amount will be refunded without undue delay.

5. Shipping and Delivery

Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are displayed at checkout.

Orders are normally handled within 1–3 business days, unless otherwise stated on the website.

Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on the shipping provider. We are not responsible for delays caused by the carrier.

Uncollected parcels may be returned to us. In such cases, we reserve the right to charge the customer for return shipping and administrative costs.

Risk for the goods passes to you upon delivery.

6. Right of Withdrawal (Ångerrätt)

According to the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (Distansavtalslagen), you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days.

The withdrawal period starts the day after you receive the goods.

Conditions:

• The book must be returned in substantially the same condition as when received.

• You are responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise agreed.

• You are responsible for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the item.

Refunds will be made within 14 days of receiving the returned item or proof of return.

7. Complaints and Defects

Under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (Konsumentköplagen), you have the right to complain about a defective product within three (3) years from the date of purchase.

Complaints must be made within a reasonable time (skälig tid) after the defect was discovered. Complaints made within two (2) months are always considered timely.

A defect does not include:

• Normal wear, aging, or changes due to the age of the book

• Wear consistent with the stated condition grade

• Issues clearly stated in the product description

The assessment of whether a defect exists is always made with regard to the book’s age, condition grade (Som ny, Fint skick, Välanvänd), and price.

If a book is deemed defective, you may be entitled to:

• Repair (if possible)

• Replacement (if available)

• Price reduction

• Refund

Complaints must be submitted via email.

8. Returns (Non‑Withdrawal)

Returns outside the statutory right of withdrawal are accepted only if explicitly agreed upon by us in advance.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and design, is the property of Bokvinden or its licensors and may not be used without prior written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Indirect or consequential damages

• Loss of profits or data

• Delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure)

Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by Swedish law.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

11. Personal Data

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect and process personal data.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes shall primarily be resolved through dialogue with us.

If unresolved, you may turn to:

• The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ODR)

These Terms are governed by Swedish law, and Swedish courts shall have jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer protection rules state otherwise.

13. Amendments

We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms at any time.

Any changes will apply only to orders placed after the updated version has been published on the website. Orders already placed are governed by the Terms in force at the time of purchase.
